Has anybody had the pizza here in Austria yet? I'm just wondering if Austrian pizza is any good. Austria doesn't scream pizza to me. I don't think of it every time I want a slice. I do not think that I have ever thought Oh, Austrian pizza! I think of Italy of course. Or the pizza place just down the road from us. Is there anything Austria is known for? Germany has their beer and winer schnitzel. We have fish and chips and all sorts of other things. Canada has maple syrup. The Americans have junk food. Belgium has their waffles and chocolate. I think you know what I am getting at with this so I will stop rambling now and turn the floor over to you. Who is excited for The Sound of Music tonight? |

How are you all enjoying the churches? The Hofkirche is absolutely amazing. I rather enjoyed the statues made from bronze. There are 28 of them in total around the cenotaph (Maximilian's tomb). The Tiroler Volkskunde-Museum was lovely as well. I enjoyed seeing all the traditional costumes. It made me feel like having a masquerade. (Dominique, may we have a masquerade?) The Wiltener Basilika was unbelievable. Very ornate! In comparison with the Hofkirche, it had so much more gold, and detailed paintings and sculptures. I think I could have stared at the ceilings all day. Each of those churches deserved a whole day, not a morning. I took about a million photographs to show my parents.
I am a bit upset though, it will be my birthday in five days. I will be turning 16 though! It says on the itinerary that we will be getting to know Munich on the 4th. Which sounds fun, but I haven't ever had a birthday away from my parents. I suppose I still have Jack (and Grace!), but this just feels so wrong. I suppose I should make the best of it. Grace where are you? I am awfully hungry. |
